Want to learn how to make your very own Love Photo Display Silicone Mould? Learn all the tips on how to make your own re-useable Silicone Mould using liquid silicone, that you get to take home to fill yourself with epoxy resin or plaster, to create a unique gift just in time for Valentine's Day.
Session will cover all the steps to consider to prep for making silicone moulds, making mould boxes and pouring silicone to make 1-piece moulds. Once the mould is completed, it will be demonstrated how to fill silicone moulds with epoxy resin to discuss all the aspects to consider. (The price of this workshop DOES include the resin to fill the mould ONCE DRY)
This approx. 3-3.5 hour workshop is designed for beginners who want to have a go with making silicone moulds, and minimum age is 15y.o. with a supervising adult.
What you will learn:
- How to get started using liquid silicone to make your own 1-piece silicone moulds to replicate items.
- How to work with liquid silicone, resin and skills to create your own moulds and items at home.
- What resin and coloured pigments are available to be used and tips casting in silicone moulds.
What you will get
- A reusable silicone mould that you will be able to keep & reuse at home to create an item out of resin or plaster.
- Everything you need to complete this 1-piece mould will be provided.
- Discounted materials purchased on the day.
- This beginners workshop is a pre-requisite to attend the Advanced Mould Making class for 2 part moulds. (DATES TO BE RELEASED AT A LATER DATE)
What to wear
- Wear old clothes that can get messy and closed in shoes.
**We follow all manufacturer's recommendations when it comes to safety precautions when using resin, as per the SDS.
The FibreFinish team will provide safety information and PPE relevant to each individual class and by attending and participating you acknowledge the risks and that you have/will receive all necessary safety information.
If you have any questions or concerns prior to booking the team are available via email or phone to assist and a Safety Data Sheet is available for materials used in this session.
Please note: The resin used in this workshop requires 24 hours-48hours to cure hard enough to transport, so you will need to return the following business day to collect your timber if you’re looking to finish your project at home.
